Preparation of Palladium‐Doped Nickel Phosphide Nanoparticles as Efficient Electrocatalysts for the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

Hydrogen production through electrochemical water splitting has gained significant attention owing to its environmental benefits over traditional methods. However, designing an efficient electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in alkaline electrolyte remains a challenge. In this study, colloidal Pd‐doped Ni2P nanoparticles were prepared via thermal decomposition‐based strategy and used as electrocatalysts reaction. The Pd dopant is atomically dispersed within nanoparticles, regulating their electronic structure providing active site production. exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance HER with overpotential of 77 mV at 10 mA cm−2 small Tafel slope 46 dec−1.

Monodispersed nickel phosphide (Ni2P) nanoparticles were for the first time applied to photocatalytic hydrogen evolution from lactic acid aqueous solution under visible light LED irradiation using CdS nanorods as a photosensitizer.
